International Artists Veronica and Edwin Dam de Nogales are creating a large scale work of art in response to Illegal Wildlife Trafficking towards the goal of being placed temporarily in the streets of London in October of 2018. With the model already executed, the work is an emotional appeal to re-connect the human-animal bond on a global scale. But it is also a work which changes from a call to tenderness to a work drenched in a sense of mourning and of loss.
For 9 days it would deal with the tender balance and understanding we must aim for with wildlife, and with the acceptance of the responsibility that comes with it. Then for one day, we will be faced with the reality, and the sense of loss and absence. Our hope is that others too might be moved to help combat the horrific loss of wild life occurring on a daily basis, and that this emotional appeal will lead to decisive action.
